Ok so I love all the wavy hair that is floating around in Hollywood right now but really struggle to get my hair to look like that. I was so frustrated that I was thinking about chopping off my hair again! And then I tried something different and wow! I had such good results that friends have been asking what I'm doing differently! Not sure if it will work for everyone but even if it only helps a few here is what I'm now doing with my hair:
The Night Before:
(I switched to washing my hair at night instead of in the morning - This allows it to dry naturally. Blow-drying makes hair limp.)
1) As usual I use a Sulfate free shampoo (less drying and doesn't strip your natural oils )
2) Switched my conditioner to a super conditioning Hair Mask (I use it like a conditioner). - If you live in Minnesota and you use an Iron your hair you need an intense conditioner.
3) While damp I scrunch in a leave-in oil moisturizer to help prevent frizz from developing while I sleep (also provides heat protection for when I iron in the morning).
The Next Morning:
4) In the morning I brush out my waves, scrunch in more oil on my ends if they still feel dry or frizzy (or spray them with heat protection) and curl all my ends with a large barrel curling iron (1.5"- 2" Iron).
5) Finally I quick backcomb any flat spots and tweek my bangs with a large curling iron or styling iron (a straight iron that also curls) Viola! Wavy Hair that Stays Bouncy all day! Finally!!!
P.s. Still Struggling with bouncy waves? Consider getting more layers cut into your hair. ( To encourage waves, and prevent frizz, the layers should be point cut or slide cut. )
