Color Trixx

Here a few fast tips n trixx on haircolor:

=lightening hair roughs up the hair shaft (see blog on volume trixx), making hair look and feel thicker.
=the darker the color the thinner the hair will appear.

=lighter or brighter color or foils applied on just the top will elongate the face.
=lighter or brighter color or foils applied on just the sides will help balance a long face.

=Hair that is one solid color will appear shinier, smoother.
=The higher contrast the colors are in a head of hair, the more hairs there will appear to be. (Try: Highlight and Lowlight foils that are as light and as dark as you can handle.)

=We don't really get 'gray' hair. Rather our natural color looses it warm tones. But we do get white hairs that have no pigment. The white strands mixed with the natural color looks gray.
=Since as we age we loose the warm tones in our hair, cool toned hair is associated with older people and warm toned hair associated with youth. One way to look younger: pick out the warmest color your skin tone can handle.

= Trying to decide which hair color tones you look best in? Think about what colors you look best or worst in. Cant wear yellow? Avoid hair color with a gold base. Look amazing in yellow? Aim for color with strong gold tones. Other colors to consider: Oranges, Reds, Violets, Cool Purples, Pinks, and even Green. All hair color has one or more of these undertones.
=Color does one of three things to skin tone: Makes it look more: tan, pale, yellow or red.
Bonus Tips

=The lighter your hair color the more your skin tone and lips become the focus.
=The darker your hair color the more your eyes become the focus.
=The exception to this rule - Hair color that is darker than your skin tone can naturaly handle will put the focus back on your skin. How to wear super dark hair? Use creme blush on your cheeks to keep from looking washed out.
=How to put the focus back on your eyes? Eye make-up! A good smokey eye does wonders! It can even make you look years younger! (Not sure how to do a smokey eye? Make an appointment at MAC for a lesson.)
